Moving on........guess what!! I've ticked a few things off my list!!

I can officially tie my hair up with only a pencil!! I tried to take a picture, but it wouldn't quite show up...I will post a post on how to do it in the next couple of's so cool! Because I'm one of those sad people that buy a packet of hairbands and happen to lose them all in a matter of weeks.....and I canNEVER find a hairband!!!

Also, I baked my very own loaf of bread!!! It was AMAZING....... I had to take a few pictures... It was sourdough loaf, with olives and cheese melted ontop....It took 2 days to rise, then another day when I added the second part of the mixture....and it was eaten within 3 hours... so worth it. It was very heavy, so you could only eat one piece at a time, but it's so morish..... probably not the best thing to bake again...but the average loaf costs about 35c (including the olves and cheese) and it's so much better for you than store bought bread.......

so i get some ready for the next 18 hours rise, and sit in the corner for the next week stuffing my face full of homemade bread...

Oh, I'm off to New Zealand in a couple of months. Kiwi land. Land of the sheep. So will be doing alot of op-shopping while I'm over there..... can't wait........

Well, I best be off..... have alot of things to do sitting on the couch and relaxing...had a hectic day at work today.....and also coz i'm having a hot love affair with the couch :-P

Much love vintage-ers....

Snnek Peeks for Next Weeks eee how exciting !

Okay, well, I've been REALLY slack with posting things about my store.....

So here's the speel, I love vintage clothes. Always have been and most likely will always be. I love the fact that there's memories attached to each one.

I picked up a piece the other day from an elderly lady (the pink dress, below) and I got the whole speel about how much she loved it, because her first husband proposed to her in it. I'm so chuffed, and it's such a beautiful dress. ... I'd probably propose to someone if i saw them wearing that dress :)

I've been working on this business for about 5 months now, on and off, and slowly building it up as I get enough time. BUT, when I get my list over and done with, I'll really start to focus on it, as I suppose I'm using it as a stepping stone to my fashion label, which I only do rare one offs at the moment.

ANyhoooooooo, you can buy my stuff online at
Things start from around $20USD- $80USD at the max.

There will be an official "The LIttle Vintage Dress Shop" online store soon, but I'm having a few difficulties setting up the shopping cart, and I'm a little worried it may be a bit didgy, so I want to sort out all of those knots before I launch it. I'm also thinking about holding a charity fashion show/ business launch early next year in Brisbane, Australia. Let me know if you'll be around then and would be interested in coming- I'll send you out an invite.

Anyway, NEW LISTINGS...(woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooppppeeeeee!)
Are as follows (hum hum):

100 Days and The List- Read this NOW.

Okay okay I know, I haven't been posting all that many "fashiony" things on here, like I should do as a respectable fashion designer.....but eh, I get a bit over it ya know.....Actually I'm a bit over life at the moment. Well, um I was until the last week anyway.

I went to the coast the other day (as you all heard in my last post about nothing in particular), and on the way I happened to have witnessed one of the most horrible car accidents ever...well, it wasn't that bad, it was just a horrible story.

With ambulances surrounding the area, and the roads diverted I was a little excited to see what had happned. "ooo, er!! Maybe I might see a dead body! How cool!"

How wrong I was....

As we drove through the designated driving bit, I layed my eyes on this thing on the road with a white sheet over it.... "how strange" I thought, until I saw the sneaker sticking out the end......Oh my god, a dead body. It really shook me and even bought a slight tear to my eye to think that someones loved one, someone's friend, someone's primary school crush had just been killed in a horrific car accident and were laying on the side of the road with a white sheet over there mangled body.

Not so cool anymore.

I watched the news that night and heard the story. I young girl had broken down on the side of the highway. Nothing major, so she called her parents to come and pick her up. Here mum and dad came to pick her up and were standing behind the car at the boot, while she was getting her things from the front seat. At that moment someone suddenly slammed into the back of the car, killing the girls parent's instantly and pretty much chopping them in half. The father was a community worker who worked with the homeless in the area, and the mother did the same kind of stuff. Both of them were loved immensly in the community and it's a huge loss for pretty much everyone- mostly the daughter, who saw her two parents get chopped in half from a careering car.

Anyway, this got me thinking about death, and how one moment we can all be happily frollicking around and then all of a sudden we get slammed into two pieces by a sudden and totally unexpected death. What if all a sudden we die tomorrow and we've done NOTHING with our lives, as most of haven't.

Yes, we do our daily chores, and get through our workload and pay off our mortgage, rent, or those new stunning balmain heels you've invested in, but none of it is actually ACHIEVING anything in this short time of space and time called "life" (as gorgeous as those heels are...i know). None of us are actually feeding that deep lust that we push to the back of our conciousness to put "more important" thing first.

The majority of us are unhappy, lazy, fat, and suicidal. None of us actually realise that we can do ANYTHING.....but we choose not to. We choose to be stupid, lazy and spend our time on the internet. And I'm not preaching, I do all of that (like right now). I come home, sit infront of the Tv and veg out, becuase "poor me, I've just had such a hectic day at work.". I never come home and design and make a gorgeous piece of art that could start a new fashion era.....And I have the recources and the knowledge to do it too....

None of us are living to up to our full potential. You know, we're richer than the majority of the world, and we don't see half of the things the people living in "poverty" do.

They see family, communities that look after each other, they're so poor that they grow they're own food- but they get to see the beauty of watching things grow. So it really makes me think, how can I be SO much richer and so called "wealthier" than the majority of the world, and be so stupid to see it.

I've made a little A5 visual diary into a thing called 100 Days. I will let this little book control my life for the next 100 days. Every day, I must do something special to put in this book, weather it be going for a walk through a flower garden and picking a flower to press and out into it. I WILL do something, anything, every day for the next 100 days.

Now, with this book I've also made a list. daisies, mexican beer and a patio with a view.....

ahhhhhh chuuuuuuu....... back in the blogosphere.....

Well, summer has very quickly arrived. And I have very quickly turned to being in denial. And also turned to being sick.

Not intentionally ofcourse.

I posted a little while ago about my candles, and how much I loved all of those little candles, and how much joy so many candles could bring to me.....Anyway, turns out that falling asleep with burning candles in a closed room is very bad for you..........ANd now I'm sneezing, a nose as dribbly as a a wet soppy thing that dribbles....blllleeeeeuuuuuaaahhhhhhh......

Anyway, I've has a pretty emotionally and spiritually draining week. I went to the coast for a couple of days last week. All I did was listen to beautiful world music, read a couple of books, sit on a patio in the sun with beach views and drink mexican beer. I did a little bit of gardening and ate alot of fresh fruit picked straight from the tree. Now, all I want to do is run away, and do that for the rest of my life. I've never felt so fullfilled.

But now........I'm back in the chaos of the city, with a very narrow minded flatmate and boyfriend, stuck in the hustle and bustle of the city and the pressure of work, my business (not that I'm complaining, I love my business to bits!) and I just keep feeling like i want to run away become jobless and just sit in the sun with the breeze in my hair for months on end....but oh well......

Well, I have the next 3 days off and I'm going to try top potter around the house and bring in some summer luvin'..........Not like that, you sick minded person! Haha. I'm going to play some french music, open all of the doors, light some more candles and plant some seedlings and watch them grow :-)

Pretty much a pointless post today really.......just wanted an excuse to draw (badly) on paint and make sure that you all know that I'm still alive, breathing, farting and consuming as much food as I possibly can.....Oh, and fixing up vintage clothing for you all.......

Best be off, my sore dribbly nose is screaming out that it needs some beauty the state that it's looking now though, it might need a beauty coma.......I look like rudolph......
Eh anyway, many sneezes, sniffles and tissue hugs,

Aaargh! Websites shwebsites....

The OFFICIAL website's on it's way!! Woohoo!! But I can't put my logo up the top of the page for some reason?!! Which is a bit of a bother...But it's looking preeeettty swanky!!

Very exciting!!

Oh, And i bought the most adorable dress yesterday!! It's this little floral number, and I've called it "The Little Vintage Floral Dress". Heh, hmmmmm however I'm thinking I might keep it for myself......

Ohh, also, I'm thinking about doing some snazzy sales every month...Like, with every little Vintage Dress that you buy, get a Belt for free! Or buy A belt for only $6! Or something like that....? Hmmm, but until then, I've gotta struggle with this website....and get some business cards printed! Yaay.. ah, still only early stages now though...

Oh, also, I bought some soy wax candles the other day, and they're DEVINE! 5 for $10, and you know what's even better, they burn for 9hours each, AND, you can use the melted wax as a massage oil......oooohhhh la la.......

Anyway, i got a little bit carried away before and lit them all up, and then got a little bit snap the house smells like ylang ylang, lavender, vanilla and all of those sickenly sweet scents...mmm very relaxing.....

Oh, sorry my sense of humor has gone.....Alcohol poisoning and all.......

Lots of love, mcdonalds cheeseburgers, and vomit,
your beloved Zoie. xx

tremors and dillemmas

Well..........sorry, it's been ages.....I told you That i would write sooner....and I lied.....

But now I'm sitting here, a late sunday afternoon and dealing with minor alcohol poisoning, and though, what the hell! I need to work on my blog.

Now, I'm facing quite a dilemma for summer which is coming up rather quickly.... I need to start working on my summer wardrobe (and summer stock) but I just can't shake my insane lust for 'power dressing'.... you know, black, studs, leather, and safety pins....maybe I should marry a punk? hmmmm, but I found this picture today and fell over backwards in love. Isn't it just amazing.

And you might be thinking...hmm, so what's this dillemma you're speaking of Zoie?

Well, i love op shopping, as you may know; considering I own a business in which I have to scrounge through the most unlikely of places to find incredible little pieces. And if you're an op shopper alike- you would know that you have to have a goal, a theme, a style in mind before you take your first steps past the barrier into the moth ball smelling store...

Now, As i have this burning lust in which to buy sexy strong power dressing clothing, I also have a bit of a fetish for little feminine things, like teaulle, pastel colours and flowy fabrics, and yes, ofcourse, little vintage dresses...

SO (finally getting to the point) my inspiration for new stock for the little vintage dress shop, is ALL OVER THE PLACE.!! However, my inspiration for my style is getting even quirkier than it was....

Hmm, yet another rant from the Zoie machine.

So, moral of the story, I'm sorry if new stock for the next month is a little hickel-di-piggeldy (?? wtf!).

Much Love, forever and Always,

Zoie. xx
